The Language of the Nervous System:
Exploring the 7 F’s of the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model with FSPM Facilitators

September 11, 2025 at 4:00:00 PM

Jan welcomes FSPM Facilitators Claudia Goetzelmann, Elizabeth Moitoza Robert Ragucci, and Ragna Reiske along with FSPM Facilitators in Training Jacqui Jebian Garcia and Meredith Alger to explore the framework "7 F’s", based on her Felt Sense Polyvagal Model. Unlike traditional top-down, linear nervous system models, this model offers a bottom up approach with circular patterns that reflect embodied right brain processing, the part of the brain that holds our body map. Together with students and clients, she created this visual mapping of the nervous system through the practice of felt sensing. Shapes and colours represent different nervous system states and also reflect the degree of embodied presence that is available in each state. This unique model offers an integration of neuroception and interoception, in a seamless feedback loop, the way that this process is experienced from the inside of the body. The 7 F’s offer a fresh and accessible way of understanding nervous system states by naming them through seven simple words beginning with “F.” This model helps us reframe trauma and addiction - not as disorders, but as adaptive survival responses that make sense when seen through the lens of the nervous system. This paradigm shift liberates people from shame in profound ways. It teaches us that trauma and addictive responses are just what bodies do to survive. They'll share how the 7 F’s are being applied in clinical practice, coaching, and personal healing work. They will show you how to apply this revolutionary mapping of our nervous system using felt sensing as a marker for safety and offer details about how you can join our passionate community of certified FSPM Facilitators.
