Guided Practice

In this 15‑minute guided grounding practice, Jan offers a soothing, body‑centered journey based on the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model™. Crafted to support nervous system balance, the session gently invites you to tune into subtle bodily signals—your “felt sense”—and to cultivate resonance and safety through polyvagal‑informed grounding techniques. Ideal for anyone seeking somatic relief, emotional regulation, or a moment of mindful presence, this practice helps re‑establish a sense of ease and coherence from the inside out.

Clearing Space Backwards:
A Felt Sense Practice for when Going Inside Isn't Easy

Sometimes when we’re guiding somatic practices, we assume that clients are comfortable dropping down into the center of the body. This assumption can cause undue alarm for people who are living in traumatized states. Clearing Space Backwards is a gentle way to slowly titrate an embodied process. I am grateful to Mary Armstrong, my wonderful focusing teacher for creating this practice.

"We have forgotten that we live in our bodies. But our bodies have not forgotten us. They speak to us in the language of the nervous system, and the felt sense."
