FSPM Facilitator Training
Learn how to teach Polyvagal-Informed Focusing based on the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model with confidence, depth, and embodied presence. This advanced course is the final training step before eligibility to apply for FSPM Facilitator certification.
Participants must be graduates of the FSPM Core Principles and Certificate course and the EATT Lab: Embodied Supervision in Practice course to register.

Step into embodied leadership and learn how to teach the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model and Polyvagal-Informed Focusing with confidence, clarity, and depth - all within a live online training designed for experienced practitioners ready for the next level.

More than learning how to teach concepts, this unique training supports you in becoming a relational guide... someone who can facilitate felt sense, support nervous system safety, and model the healing power of compassionate presence.
Schedule & Format
This nine-month online course begins on Thursday, September 10, 2026. The cohort will attend the FSPM Core Principles and Certificate course for the first 6 months as breakout room assistant leaders and in breakouts with participants in triads. In addition to attending the FSPM Core Principles and Certificate course, students will meet as a cohort with Jan for four classes. Between live sessions, students are required to meet with their Focusing partner for practice sessions and complete self-paced course content. Course Overview
By reflecting on learning principles, group process, and program development, participants will be prepared to integrate FSPM into any setting. Topics to be examined include how to teach the basics of Polyvagal Theory, interoception, neuroception, co-regulation, the 7-fs, felt-sense, focusing attitude, establishing Focusing partnerships, the experiencing scale, and more. In this course, participants will learn specific strategies and resources to build safety while working with blocks, and inner critics.

Student Expectations
-
To attend all six monthly 2.5 hour online sessions inclusive of lecture and participation in co-leading group breakouts (arrangements can be made for a maximum of 1 make-up session. Sessions will be recorded.)

To maintain a Focusing partnership meeting bi-weekly (12h total) throughout the course.

To complete a video recording of themselves teaching, which directly contributes to completion of this certificate and the development of their plan to integrate FSPM.

Upon completion of all requirements, and in collaboration with Jan, participants will receive Focusing Trainer Certification from The International Focusing Institute (this requires an extra fee with an upgraded IFI membership) and be eligible to apply for FSPM Facilitator certification from FSPM Institute.

Graduates are often in the fields of therapy, coaching, bodywork, education, and other healthcare professions.
