Contact Facilitator:
Donna has devoted over four decades to the field of clinical social work, with most of her 43 years spent serving as a community mental health therapist. A passionate, humble clinician and lifelong learner, she approaches her work with genuine curiosity and an eagerness to explore new and innovative models of practice.
Early in her career, Donna was fortunate to learn Eugene Gendlin’s focusing skill - a transformative, embodied living forward process she has embraced and taught throughout her professional journey. Gendlin’s teachings have profoundly shaped her, offering benefits that have enriched her life both personally and professionally. Through experience, Donna has come to believe that the heart of effective therapy lies in the sacredness of the client–therapist relationship. She holds deep respect for the privilege and responsibility entrusted to therapists.
Over the years, Donna has integrated a wealth of trauma and neuro-informed approaches into her practice and work in a First Nations community including EMDR, ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), Indigenous Tools for Living, Internal Family Systems, DBT and Polyvagal Theory. She is excited to have recently completed training with Jan Winhall to practice as a Felt Sense Polyvagal Model Facilitator. Each of these modalities are an invaluable part of her work, allowing her to meet clients with skill, resources, and depth in the healing of trauma and addiction.
